In an interview granted to Joy news, Dele Momodu reacted to Davido dropping his name in his songs with the latest calling him his boy. Excerpt:
On Davido calling him his boy
Fans can mislead you sometimes. I know that what he is doing is what most artists do all over the world which is to sell his album. You want to sell your record, you have to create controversy sometimes. I don’t think David will see me face to face and say I am his boy. I’m his father.
I have seen a video of him performing somewhere and his fans were shouting Dele na my boy, Dele na my boy?
Why are you talking about it now, that’s what is selling his record
Are you comfortable with that?
Very, why will I fight my own child? I can’t fight him and now we are connected together for life through that baby. I can never fight David, David is too small to me never, never.

You don’t think he should be call to order because you are somebody who has built a reputation for yourself over these years?
He didn’t call me a thief. He said I’m his boy so do I look like anybody’s boy so why should I react (laughs sarcastically)
Davido first dropped Dele Momodu’s name in the remix of Humblesmith’s song Osinachi which the publisher even danced to in Ghana on Live FM on Thursday, June,2, 2016. In a recently dropped collaboration with Falz, Olamide and Davido, the Skelewu singer went further with his name calling of Dele when he said ‘Dele na my boy’
