FC ifeanyi Ubah given N100m for transfers

FC Ifeanyi Ubah has been given N100m for transfers ahead of the second stanza of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The club’s technical adviser, Mitko Dobrev, was given the funds after club chief and Capital Oil boss Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah decided the club needed financial backing after reviewing the first stanza.

In a statement made availiable to NAIJ.com, the club noted that “this is one of the major steps taken by the management of the club to keep the team on track towards the realization of the set objectives this season – top of which is winning the league or a continental ticket at the very least.”
The club also said it was planning to host some high-profile international friendly matches; one with English Premier League side, West Ham United FC next week Sunday and another against a top Chinese Super League side.
Chairman of the club, Mr. Chukwuma Ubah said: “The team has not done badly so far in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. There were some unimpressive results, especially on the road.
“But as a positive thinking team, we will definitely be doing a bit of business to strengthen the team during the mid-season. We have invested in the club and we will continue to invest in it because we have our set objectives.
“We have given Dobrev the free hand and the necessary funds to bolster the team with new players during the break. We are not stopping at that. We have also arranged some high profile friendly matches with some foreign clubs we are finalising partnerships with.”
The “1 family-1 footballer” project is actually the theme name for the ‘Football made in Anambra’ project which is expected to seek development to grassroots football.
